Movie Review: Tangled

Disney brought their a-game this time. And hair - lots of 'em.

Tangled is Disney's 50th animated feature and the I would say that this would be a classic.

Rapunzel voiced by Mandy Moore (The Princess Diaries, A Walk To Remember) always wonder about the lights in the night sky that only appears during her birthday. It's her dream to witness see the lights up close and not just from her tower where her mother, Mother Gothel voiced by Donna Murphy  (Center Stage, The Fountain) has kept from from for the last 17 years. The arrival of Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert voiced by Zachary Levi (Chuck, Wieners) gave her the extra boost to get everything tangled up by defying her mother's wishes to never leave the tower.

I have to saw that this is by far one of the best Disney movies ever made. As a princess movie, this stands out from the others.
  • Rapunzel is quite happy with her life - painting and cooking and reading and other stuff.
  • Mother Gothel, though villainous is does not want Rapunzel dead.
  • The male lead has a back-story.
  • It's not blatantly presented that true love is the cure.
  • Rapunzel stood for herself and she was willing to give up her freedom just to make sure Flynn is alive.
That's just some of the points that I'd like to share.

I totally didn't expect to tear up while watching the movie but I did...once...or twice. The most magical/romantic/emotional part was the lantern scene. The crying king was heart wrenching. *sniff sniff*

The visuals were fantastic. IMAX 3D made it even better. The music was contemporary without loosing it's Disney feel. Superb! Did I mention that Maximus and Pascal were very hilarious? You'll stomach will hurt from laughing. The movie was very quotable as well.

Everything was just fantastical! Pure awesomesauce!

Definitely a 5 out of 5 for me. A must watch for all of you.
